"Basically, I had to sell it because there are other payroll providers out there," Ricardo explains. "I needed to ensure I provided the proper information. And it was based on experience, technology, expertise."
For OneTrust, the problems were clear. New hire reporting across multiple states was creating compliance exposure. Garnishment payroll rules in the U.S. are uniquely complex and time-consuming — barely a concern in other countries. Payroll staff were drowning in manual work that could be automated.
Ricardo's winning pitch went beyond features. He spoke about freeing up resources across departments.
